The focus of Steve’s practice is defending insurance carriers and their insureds and defending healthcare providers in medical malpractice litigation. He has tried over 300 jury trials to verdict in at least 25 different Texas counties.  His trial experience includes countless cases in the areas of catastrophic personal injury, complex medical malpractice, transportation, premises liability, and first and third-party litigation. 

 

Steve has an AV Preeminent Peer-Review Rating by Martindale Hubbell – an honor reserved for those lawyers nominated by their peers for their overall experience, integrity and professional excellence.  Steve is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a prestigious, invitation-only, membership.   In 2014, Steve received the Dallas Bar Association’s Trial Legends Award,  an award bestowed on only the most experienced trial lawyers.  Steve speaks at continuing education seminars for clients, including insurance adjusters.  He has lectured in numerous seminars on trial techniques, participated in several workshops at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and has lectured at the Southern Methodist School of Law.

 

Following his graduation from the University of Texas School of Law, Steve enlisted in the United States Army.  He received a commission from the United States Navy as  JAG officer, obtaining the rank of LDCR.  Today, Steve and his wife, Lisa, live in Dallas.  Steve has three daughters and a very rambunctious Labradoodle.
